He is the First Mahdi mentioned in the Will of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on the night of his death. In this sacred Will, the Prophet declared that the Vicegerents of God after him would be twelve Imams, followed by twelve Mahdis. Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan is the first of those twelve Mahdis and the successor of Imam Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Mahdi.
Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan is also the promised Yamani, whose appearance is foretold in the narrations of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) as one of the most important signs connected to the rise of Imam Al-Mahdi. He is the Mahdi foretold in Sunni narrations to arise at the end of times. He is also the Comforter promised by Jesus (peace be upon him) in the Gospel and the promised savior associated with the prophecies of Elijah for the Jewish people.

The beginning of the call
The divine call of Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan began in Iraq in 1999. From Iraq, the call spread beyond national and linguistic boundaries and reached people throughout the world.
The purpose of the mission
Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan explains that his call is the continuation of the same divine call brought by Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and the Vicegerents of God after them.
“My call is like the call of Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and like the call of Muhammad: that monotheism may spread throughout every part of the earth. My goal is the goal of the Prophets and the Imams.”
His mission is to establish the Oneness of God and the Supremacy of God, and to clarify the truth contained in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran. He explains the matters over which people have differed and exposes the deviations of religious scholars who have departed from the religion of God and opposed the commandments and Wills of the Prophets.
Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan explains his purpose as seeking what God Almighty seeks: that the people of the earth live according to the Will of God and that the earth be filled with justice and equity after it has been filled with oppression and injustice.
It is a call for a world in which the hungry are fed, no poor person is left without shelter, orphans find happiness after long suffering, widows receive their material needs with dignity and honor, and justice, mercy, and truthfulness prevail among humanity.
This is the call of Imam Ahmed Al-Hasan: the call to God, to His sovereignty, to justice, mercy, truth, and the establishment of His divine purpose upon the earth.
