The Supreme Word of God

The first thing God created was the human being. He said to the angels: “I am placing a vicegerent on the earth.”[95]

This first vicegerent on the earth was the Prophet of God, Adam.

This vicegerency did not cease in the past, nor will it cease until the Day of Resurrection. Just as the angels were split regarding this vicegerency between one group who acknowledged it and another who denied it and disbelieved in the word of God, likewise the same matter returns again and again on this earth so that people are divided into two groups.

One group followed the first denier (the Devil) and rejected the first command. Another group followed those who were brought near first (the angels) and accepted the first command.

This is the supreme word of God, which repeats in every age, and through it people become divided into those who acknowledge it and those who deny it.

The vicegerent of God on His earth is the Word of God. Whoever acknowledges him is among the monotheists, and whoever denies him is among the polytheists. It is that simple and straightforward, without complication.

In every era there is Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and al-Hussain; rather, all prophets and vicegerents are embodied in the person of God’s vicegerent on the earth.

So whoever denies God’s vicegerent on the earth denies Moses, even if he professes Judaism, denies Jesus, even if he professes Christianity, denies Muhammad, even if he professes Islam, and denies al-Hussain, even if he claims to be one of the Shia of al-Hussain, son of Ali.

Thus, striving is for the sake of upholding and making manifest the cause of God’s vicegerent on the earth, because he is the word of God and His appointed vicegerent.

Monotheism is attained through knowing them, for through them God is known. Whoever knows God’s vicegerents knows God, whoever denies them denies God, and whoever is ignorant of them is ignorant of God. For they are God’s most beautiful names, the face of God, and the hand of God.
