Question 53
What is the ruling on foods to which chicken or meat flavoring is added, or spices that contain animal bones?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
It is not permissible to eat any meat or chicken unless it was slaughtered in the proper religious manner. If chicken or meat flavoring contains actual parts of chicken or meat, it has the same ruling. It is not permissible to eat bones or cartilage even if they come from a lawfully edible animal that was properly slaughtered.
