Question 36

What if the listener cannot verify a reported crescent sighting for some reason, such as imprisonment, but the report gives him a strong presumption that the month has begun? Is it sufficient for him to fast on that basis?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is sufficient for him unless it later becomes clear that the report was incorrect.
