Question 53
I am now in Mecca to perform an individual ‘umrah, and I want to perform another ‘umrah on behalf of my father. Is it valid for me to perform ghusl and put on the two ihram garments at the hotel, then go to the miqat—Masjid al-Tan‘im—and recite the talbiya and enter ihram there? Or must the ghusl and putting on the ihram garments take place at the miqat?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
He may put on the ihram garments and perform ghusl at the hotel, then go to the miqat and enter ihram for ‘umrah.
