Question 369
Peace be upon you. Approximately five years ago, I saw in a dream that there was thunder, lightning, and rain. While in the vision, I wished to ask someone what was happening. I saw one of the believers-may Allah have mercy upon him-named Abdullah ibn Ahmed al-Nasir. He knew my question before I spoke it and answered me, smiling and holding the staff on which he leaned while walking, ‘The Mahdi (a) has appeared.’ I awoke to the muezzin’s call for the dawn prayer, ‘Allah is greatest,’ as though the Mahdi (a) had truly appeared. Note: The man I saw died one year before the Yamani (a) appeared-that is, eleven years ago. After my vision, or shortly before it, my wife saw the same man saying to her while shouting, ‘The Mahdi has appeared! The Mahdi has appeared!’ What astonished me about my vision was that I had not thought about the Mahdi (a) before sleeping that night, nor on the preceding nights. I await your interpretation, and thank you. Sender: Abu al-Rahamat - Saudi Arabia
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Rain indicates good descending from heaven. The vision is almost without symbols and is clear. The name ‘Abdullah ibn Ahmed al-Nasir’ clearly has a connection to the call of truth. The one you saw was not that same person; rather, you saw an angel from among Allah’s angels who took the form of this servant because you knew him for righteousness and because of the significance of the name. The time of your vision was close to the time the call began in the Najaf hawza and some areas of Iraq-that is, the middle of 2002-and also close to the beginning of the call’s renewed spread around the middle of 2003, after the fall of Saddam’s regime and the occupation of Iraq. From the end of 1999 until approximately the middle of 2002, I had been charged with clarifying the deviation in the Najaf hawza and reforming the hawza, but without announcing any relationship connecting me to Imam al-Mahdi (a). Thus, the end of 1999, as the beginning of the call, concerned me personally; there was no public announcement at that time. Ahmed Alhasan Shaban of goodness 1430 AH
