Question 494
My father’s Alawite wife came to me in a vision and said, ‘Why are you bewildered and weeping? Are you searching for Sayyed Ahmed?’ I said yes. The Alawite woman told me, ‘Sayyed Ahmed is present among you,’ and I awoke from the vision. Since then I have been weeping and want to know what the Sayyed says concerning this vision, what I must do, and how I should proceed in my life from this day onward. I am a political man, approaching elections and other matters, and known to the state and the tribe. I ask the Sayyed to indicate to me, with proof, that I am with him and that the vision was the proof that Allah chose me to be among the soldiers of the Proof, the Imam-may Allah, the Exalted, hasten his noble relief. Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. May Allah grant you success in every good and direct your steps toward what pleases Him, Glorious and Exalted. We came to this world only to undergo the first test that the angels (a) underwent. The Exalted said: ‘We certainly sent Our messengers with clear proofs, and We sent down with them the Book and the Balance so that people may uphold justice. And We sent down iron, in which there is mighty force and benefits for the people, and so that Allah may know those who support Him and His messengers in the unseen. Indeed, Allah is Strong, Mighty’ ([69]). Thus, the test is supporting Allah and His messengers. Blessed is the one who undertakes the difficult ascent, is among those who prostrate, and supports Allah’s vicegerent in his time. As for your question-may Allah grant you success-whether Allah chose you to be among His soldiers: know that Allah chooses whom He chooses. You must-may Allah grant you success-make a real decision that you choose Allah, Glorious and Exalted, and be prepared to offer everything to Allah and in pursuit of His satisfaction, Glorious is He.
