Question 534
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Allah, Exalted is He, says in the Noble Quran: ‘Indeed, We suffice you against the mockers’ ([62]). What form does this sufficing take, given that the Messenger of Allah (s) and the Imams suffered severely from the mockers, continuing to this day, as is clear from the people’s mockery of the Proof and his vicegerent-prayers, peace, and greetings of Allah be upon them? Has the verse been applied, or has its fulfillment not yet come? Sender: Abu Yusuf - Iraq
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Allah sufficed him against their influence and the influence of their mockery upon the message, its reaching the people, and the people’s belief in it. The Exalted said: ‘Proclaim openly what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. Indeed, We suffice you against the mockers’ ([63]). That is: convey the message and do not concern yourself with these obstinate mockers, for their actions and foolish objections will have no effect upon the divine message reaching wherever Allah, Glorious is He, wills. Allah, Glorious and Exalted, sends His angels, and they make the believers steadfast and repel from them the whispering of Iblis, the mockery of the foolish, and their objections. Allah may will to destroy some of these foolish people, or afflict them with something that preoccupies them from mocking the divine call, and He may make them a lesson for others. Praise be to Allah. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Muharram al-Haram, 1432 AH
