Question 734
My question concerns an endowment for Imam al-Husayn-may my soul be his ransom. My siblings and I inherited an orchard. Our father-may Allah have mercy upon him-had endowed an area of 750 square meters of the orchard to build a mosque in the village, while in reality more than one Husayniyyah has been built in the same village. My question is: Can we build a school-primary, intermediate, or secondary-instead of the mosque my late father instructed be built, because the village children walk long distances that may reach seven or ten kilometers in order to reach their schools? We have decided to change the area of the endowment from 750 to 1,000 square meters. Sender: Your servant … al-Musawwir
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Carry out your father’s testament and do what he intended. May Allah grant you success and direct your steps aright.
