Question 79

Are all seven takbirs obligatory even in a voluntary prayer?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

A voluntary prayer has neither adhan nor iqamah. In it, the six takbirs after takbirat al-ihram are recommended, just as the takbir for bowing and prostration and for rising from them is recommended.
