Question 20

My master, the jurists of misguidance have changed the qibla for people and left us confused. When we went to the shrines of the pure Imams, we were surprised to find the qibla direction changed about 30 degrees to the right. When we asked, we were told that the old qibla had been incorrect and that the religious authorities had discovered the error. What should we do, and in which direction should we pray?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

I instructed the Legal Committee to verify the qibla at the shrines of the Imams and other holy places. God willing, He will facilitate their work in checking it and announcing any error if one is found.
