Question 60

What is the ruling on eating, drinking, or smoking cannabis (marijuana)?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

The narcotic substance extracted from the cannabis plant may not be eaten, drunk, or smoked because it is an intoxicating narcotic. However, it may be used in medicine for therapeutic purposes.
