Question 12

For the specifically prescribed visitations, must we visit Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) on the designated day itself? If we arrive on foot or by transportation before the specified day, is the reward of that specific visitation—whether Arbaeen or the Sha‘baniyya visitation—counted for us, or is it counted only as a general visitation?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

If the intention is that particular visitation, there is no problem with doing it earlier or later so long as there are reasonable causes for the advance or delay, such as severe crowding, special circumstances, or the like.
