When does seeking and observing the Ramadan crescent begin, and how long does it continue?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Seeking and observing the crescent begins after noon on the 29th day of the preceding month-for Ramadan, that is Sha'ban-and continues until midnight. In practice, the crescent is normally seen after sunset and before the twilight disappears.
