Question 54
What is the interpretation of the noble surah: ‘For the accustomed security of Quraysh-their accustomed security in the journey of winter and summer-let them worship the Lord of this House, who fed them against hunger and made them safe from fear’ ([8])? Sender: Ibrahim Rughayl
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. This surah reminds the disbelievers of Quraysh in the time of the Messenger of Allah (s) of Allah’s blessing upon them, so that perhaps they would believe in His messenger (s), support him, and worship Allah as He truly ought to be worshipped after entering into divine authority and believing in Allah’s Proof over His creation. In this age it also addresses the Quraysh, the Mother of Cities, and the Mecca of this age: the scholars who do not act. They live in the blessing and bounty of Imam al-Mahdi (a), yet they oppose his messenger to them and do not support him. Rather, they do not believe in the testament of the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (s).
