Question 53
What is the interpretation of the noble verse: ‘And We carried him upon that which was made of planks and nails’? Sender: Ibrahim Rughayl
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. The planks are wood, and the dusur are nails. This is according to the outward meaning. The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (s), said: ‘… We are the dusur …’ ([6]). The Exalted said: ‘And We carried him upon that which was made of planks and nails, sailing under Our eyes …’ ([7]). The possessor of divine authority and Allah’s Proof over His creation is Allah’s eye on His earth. Thus, ‘under Our eyes’ means the family of Muhammad (a).
