Question 221
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. My dear brothers, the righteous supporters and servants of Ahmed Alhasan (a), Allah willing, we ask you to convey this inquiry to the Sayyid-may prayers and peace be upon him-and you have our great thanks. Your servant, Yusuf In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May Allah send prayers upon our master Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Peace be upon you, O son of the Chosen Prophet. Peace be upon you, O son of Ali al-Murtada. Peace be upon you, O son of the Truthful One, al-Zahra. Peace be upon you, O son of the infallible Imams, Allah’s successors on His earth and His Proofs over His creation, the lamps of darkness and banners of piety. Whoever goes ahead of you has departed from the religion, whoever lags behind you perishes, and whoever adheres to you reaches you. Peace be upon you, O impregnable refuge of Allah. Peace be upon you, O straight path of Allah. Whoever seeks Allah begins with you, and whoever declares His oneness accepts from you. There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. My master, O one whose generosity is vast, accept us as servants with you, pardon us, incline toward us through your glory, and show us tenderness through your mercy. O Allah, support our master and guardian, and make us among his supporters, helpers, and defenders, by his right. Amen, amen, amen. The book The Successor and Messenger of Imam al-Mahdi in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran states the following: ‘Imam al-Mahdi (a) must be better than the Prophet of Allah Jesus (a), and of course Imam al-Mahdi (a) would not be better unless he had the rank of prophethood. In that case, there is no place for the objection you raised. Even if I believed this, I would still present the second possibility and answer it.’ According to my limited understanding-and I think I am mistaken in my understanding-I believe, my master and guardian, that you meant you do not hold this belief; that is, you do not believe Imam al-Mahdi (a) is better than Jesus (a), and consequently that he does not have the rank of prophethood. I therefore hope, my guardian, that you clarify this matter for us, for all the supporters, and for the entire world, Allah willing. Praise be to Allah alone, alone, alone. The poor servant in need of Allah and of you, the sinner who has fallen short in supporting you: Yusuf
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Imam al-Mahdi (a) has the rank of prophethood, and he is better than the Prophet of Allah Jesus (a). Ahmed Alhasan
