Question 228
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May prayers and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his purified family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and may He grant them abundant peace. To proceed: to the remnant of Allah’s light upon His earth, to the descendant of the righteous progeny. My master and guardian, may my father and mother be your ransom, I hope from the Most High, the All-Powerful, that reading and answering this letter of mine will not burden you. You are more entitled to me than I am to myself, and I possess nothing but submission and surrender to your command. My master, I would like you to advise me, my mother, and my two brothers in faith who live with me, for you know our condition better than we do and you know best what is most suitable for us in our affair. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the purified ones, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. You said that you live with your mother, and this is a blessing Allah has bestowed upon you. I advise you to honor your mother and seek her satisfaction in that which pleases Allah, Glorious is He. I advise you, and I advise everyone whom my words reach, to fight the self, for it is the human being’s most hostile enemy. Fight your self and support your Lord. Let your effort be in work that pleases your Lord, Glorious is He, for the creation’s displeasure does not harm you when He is satisfied, and the people of the earth, even if they gathered together, cannot benefit you except by His will, Glorious is He.
