Question 227
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I have a question, and I hope the answer will be from Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan-may our souls be his ransom. Question: There is a written petition addressed to Imam al-Hujjah ibn al-Hasan (a). In this petition one beseeches Allah, Glorious and Exalted, through Imam al-Hujjah; it is written down together with the need being sought, one of the four ambassadors is appointed to deliver it, and it is cast into flowing water or a well. I read this petition in the book Bihar al-Anwar and in al-Numani’s al-Ghaybah. Is this correct or not? Many people in the area where I live have tried this petition and obtained a quick answer. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Supplication is sufficient and there is no need to write, for Allah knows what is in the heart before it comes forth upon the tongue. Ahmed Alhasan
