Question 247

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. A. My question concerns the glorification of al-Zahra (a): 1. Is it obligatory after every prayer or recommended? 2. How is the glorification performed? 3. If confusion occurs during the glorification, what should we do? 4. What is preferable to use for the glorification-for example, soil from al-Husayn (a), fayruz, or something else? 5. Must the thread be blue, as has been narrated from Fatima (a)? 6. How is it used to seek the fulfillment of needs? Is there a specified time? B. What is the ruling concerning packaged foreign cheeses, especially Kraft cheese, and what is the ruling concerning the rennet used in them? Peace in closing, and thank you for the response. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. The glorification of al-Zahra (a) is recommended. Its manner is: ‘Allah is greater’ 34 times, then ‘Praise be to Allah’ 33 times, then ‘Glory be to Allah’ 33 times. If one makes a mistake in the count, he bases it upon the lesser number and completes it. It is preferable to make prayer beads from the soil of al-Husayn and glorify with them. There is no problem with the color of the thread. One performs the glorification of al-Zahra before sleeping and when setting out to fulfill a need, to facilitate its fulfillment by Allah’s permission. There is no problem with using rennet to make cheese, whether it comes from an animal slaughtered correctly or not. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan
