Question 248

I pledge allegiance to Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan (a), and I ask for supplication for me and my family. I am unmarried; should I marry, knowing that if I marry, I will marry a Sunni woman, or should I await the relief? I want to send a portion of the financial rights of Imam al-Mahdi (a); what is the means? Please respond, and may Allah grant you victory. Sender: Amr - Egypt

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. I ask Allah to grant you success in the good of the Hereafter and this world and make you steadfast in supporting the truth upon this earth for as long as you live. As for marrying a Muslim woman who is an opponent but does not set herself in enmity, there is no problem with it. If you desire what is better, then act according to the words of the Messenger of Allah Muhammad (s): ‘Win the woman of religion; may your hands be covered with dust’ ([90]). I ask Allah to grant you success in choosing a righteous believing woman. There are believing women in your country, Egypt, and you can ask your supporter brothers. As for the khums, you can give it to needy believing men and women in your country, Egypt. I ask Allah to grant you success in doing so. You can ask your supporter brothers to learn who among the believing men and women in your country are in need. May Allah preserve you and grant you success in every good. Ahmed Alhasan
