Question 294

My master, son of the Imam: this means that now Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan is alive. Then how is it written in the will, ‘When death comes to him, he is to hand it over to his son, the first of the Mahdis’? The Imam is alive, so how does he hand the Imamate over to him while he is alive? Sender: Haidar - Iraq

Supporters Response:

The Sayyed Yamani did not claim that he had received the Imamate from Imam al-Mahdi (a) or that Imam al-Mahdi (a) had died. Rather, he said that he is the promised Yamani who prepares the way for Imam al-Mahdi, that he is the bearer of the most rightly guided banner, and that whoever turns away from him is among the people of the Fire because he calls to Imam al-Mahdi (a), calls to the truth, and calls to a straight path. As for what you understood-that he receives the Imamate-that will be after the death of Imam al-Mahdi (a), after Allah enables him and he rules the earth. He is the first successor among his successors and the Proof after him. That is, Sayyed Ahmad al-Hasan is now the one who prepares the way for Imam al-Mahdi (a) and his messenger to the people. Whoever does not accept the messenger does not accept the sender, and whoever turns away from the messenger turns away from the sender. The Scientific Committee Supporters of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah establish him upon the earth)
