Question 320

Question 320: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I request that the answer come personally from Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan: What does ‘Alhasan’ mean? Is it the father’s name or a title, and how? Evidence, please. What is the meaning of the appearance and declaration followed by the occultation? Did the appearance occur according to its appointed time-that is, after completion of the number through which victory is realized? What is the wisdom in the occultation? Is a miraculous favor possible with me, for example, telling me the question I now conceal in my breast? What do you personally advise me? For Allah knows that the dearest thing I possess is my religion. May Allah reward you with the best reward. Sender: al-Husayni Seminary student - Australia

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. I ask Allah to grant you success in every good and take you by the hand to His straight path. If you are seeking an unseen sign to guide you to the truth, that is from Allah, Glorious and Exalted. Ask it from Him, Glorious is He, after you take a step toward His door and stand at His door awaiting His bounty. At that point a sign will come to you, because you requested it through action and sincerity, not through speech alone while you turn your back to Him and pay Him no heed, and then want Him to give you a sign and compel you to believe. This did not happen in the past, does not happen now, and will not happen in the future. I have explained the reason for this matter: faith cannot be purely material; indeed, that would not be faith, but only compulsion to affirm. Pharaoh’s faith was not accepted for this reason, and I have explained this matter in more than one book. I ask Allah to bestow upon you the soundness of your religion and your Hereafter and shield you from the snares of Iblis-may Allah curse him-and his soldiers from humankind and the jinn. Ahmed Alhasan 1430 AH
