Question 353

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. To Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan (a): My problem is that my wife and I suffer from problems that we believe result from an act of sorcery. We need the Sayyid’s help. What do you advise us? What should we do? Is there a supplication or any solution through which we can rid ourselves of this sorcery? Many thanks to you. Sender: Sayyid Kazim - Germany

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. This is a group of acts for you and your wife to perform. I ask Allah, through His favor, to keep from you both the evil of humankind and the jinn and to set your condition right: 1. You and your wife should recite in the place where you live Ayat al-Kursi and the Verse of Light, each seven times for ten days, and recite the first ten verses of Surah al-Saffat once for ten days. 2. Write Ayat al-Kursi, as well as Kaf-Ha-Ya-Ayn-Sad and Ha-Mim-Ayn-Sin-Qaf, with saffron on white paper. Then place the paper in water until the writing dissolves. Take a little of the water and sprinkle it in the corners of your house, and wash with the remaining water as you would perform the washing for sexual impurity. Your wife should do the same. 3. Write Ayat al-Kursi with saffron on white paper and hang it in your house. Also write the Verse of Subjection with saffron on white paper and hang it in your house. 4. Every day before sleeping, recite Ayat al-Kursi and the Verse of Subjection. Your wife should do the same. The Verse of Subjection is in Surah al-Araf, and it is: ‘Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself over the Throne. He covers the night with the day, which pursues it swiftly; and the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely creation and command belong to Him. Blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds. Call upon your Lord humbly and secretly. Indeed, He does not love the transgressors. Do not cause corruption upon the earth after it has been set right, and call upon Him in fear and hope. Indeed, Allah’s mercy is near to those who do good’ ([100]). 5. You and your wife should remember Allah with this remembrance: ‘Glory be to Him; He is Allah, the One, the All-Subduing,’ ten thousand times. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
