Question 365
Peace and Allah’s mercy be upon you. I do not know how this message of mine will be classified. In it, I request the interpretation of a vision from at least two or perhaps three years ago. It was not a vision, but I saw as though Imam Zayn al-Abidin (a) was speaking with one of the sayyids, Sayyid Haydar al-Hilli-may Allah have mercy upon him-and, in the course of his speech, he pointed to me and said, ‘This is my son.’ I request its interpretation, and thank you. Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. The vision has an interpretation in your own age. It is not as you understand it-that Imam Zayn al-Abidin (a) is Imam Ali ibn al-Husayn (a) himself. His saying that you are his son, or his commending you to him, means-Allah willing-that the outcome of your affair will be guidance to the Imam of your age. This is because it is clear from your vision that ‘the Imam commends you to him, saying that you are among his children.’ That is, at the time the Imam commends you to him, your outward condition is that you are not among his children-meaning, you are not among those who believe in him-while he indicated your reality: that you will become among his children, or ‘his son,’ meaning a believer in him. May Allah grant you success in every good, set your steps aright toward knowing the truth, and make you be with it. Ahmed Alhasan
