Question 373

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace be upon you. Approximately twenty-six years ago, after I declared my Islam-praise be to Allah-and came to know the Shia school, a few months later I saw the Prophet Muhammad (s) in a vision. Before then, I had never heard that people see the Prophet (s) or that seeing the Prophet in a vision is as though he were present. One night I slept on the floor upon a white mat opposite the balcony. Shortly before dawn, while lying on my back, I saw the Prophet Muhammad (s) walk through the glass of the balcony window. He approached me, bending with one knee upon the ground, and whispered into my ear, but I did not hear what he said (s). The second vision: Also shortly before dawn, while I was lying on my back, the Prophet Muhammad (s) came and sat beside me. He then placed his hand inside my chest at the center of my heart. I no longer felt anything at that point, but I saw him (s), saw everything around me, and sensed him (s) sitting beside me. Please convey my greetings and thanks to Sayyid Ahmed and tell him that I am prepared and ready to provide any assistance. Please inform me of anything I can do to assist you. I implore Sayyid Ahmed to supplicate for me, guide me, and advise me, for my circumstances are difficult now. With my supplication for you mingled with tears, peace be upon you. Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, who granted me success in serving His servants who believe in the kingdom of the heavens, hear Allah’s words, and believe in them. Neither distances nor differences of language prevented you from recognizing the truth that comes from Allah, Glorious is He. Blessed are you and your pure hearts, which heard Allah’s words and submitted to Allah’s will. I ask Allah to grant you success in conveying to His servants the truth that Allah, Glorious is He, made known to you; to make you a cause for guiding His creation and saving them from the fire and darkness in which they graze. Do not fall short in conveying the truth to people to the extent Allah enables you, so that Allah may record you among the grateful and among the messengers who convey, work to save people, direct them toward the path of salvation they have recognized, and bring them to the truth, certainty, and safety that they have reached. I hope that you, and all believing men and women, know that it is an honor for me to answer your questions or serve you in anything Allah enables me to do to relieve and assist you. As I said to the supporters previously, I say to you now: Please regard me as a friend who is happy to serve you, O pure ones of pure hearts, O you who believed in Allah’s kingdom, affirmed Allah’s words, and did not disbelieve in them. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Shawwal 1430 AH
