Question 387

Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. I suppose that the truth will appear radiant as the sun at midday after the sun rises from its setting place. At that time, no soul that had not believed beforehand will benefit from its belief. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our master Muhammad and his good and pure family, the masters of my servitude and those who administer the cosmos by Allah Most High's permission. Your brother, Ali - Morocco

Supporters Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send His prayers upon Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Noble brother Ali, the truth has appeared clearly today with the appearance of the caller to the truth, Sayyed Ahmed Alhasan, the successor and messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a), to all people. What you mentioned relates to a sign among the signs of the appearance of the Imam's (a) affair. Perhaps you have not noticed that the Ahl al-Bayt (a), in their narrations, spoke in symbolic language rather than explicitly disclosing matters connected to the cause of Imam al-Mahdi (a). Have you understood the intended meaning behind that symbolic sign? Sayyed Ahmed Alhasan (a) also came arguing against the people by means of the divine law that Allah, Glorious is He, established in His Noble Book for recognizing Allah's Proofs, from Adam (a) until Allah inherits the earth and those upon it. This law is established; it never fails and never changes. I am therefore astonished that you hold to a symbolic sign and abandon the clear, evident law, as clear as the sun at midday. Do you see any wisdom or search for truth and reality in abandoning the established divine law for recognizing Allah's Proof-which does not change-and holding to a symbolic sign that may be subject to bada? I do not think that after this you will answer by holding to what you imagine to be the truth when it is only a symbolic sign. Rather, the truth lies in the following question: Has Allah, Glorious is He, set down a law by which His Proof is recognized in every age, and is this law established, unchanging, and unalterable? The answer is yes. He established it from the first moments of appointing Adam (a): ‘And when your Lord said to the angels: Indeed, I am placing a vicegerent upon the earth’ ([190]). When the angels objected to this appointment, the Truth, Glorious is He, disclosed to them the second pillar after the text designating Adam's entitlement (a), namely knowledge. After the truth had become clear to them, He, Glorious is He, explained the third pillar of His law: He commanded them to prostrate to him, meaning to take him as their qiblah, and commanded them to obey him and comply with his command in his capacity as Allah's vicegerent. Thus, his word is Allah's word, his command is Allah's command, and his prohibition is Allah's prohibition, Glorious is He. This law has been active from its first day and first moments; it has never altered, failed, or changed. After this brief explanation, do you see any wisdom in holding to signs subject to bada while abandoning the established law? I hope, brother, that you will turn seriously to researching what the Yamani call presents, what its proofs and arguments are, and whether the law for recognizing the Proof applies to the bearer of this call. After you complete that, the matter will become clear to you as the Ahl al-Bayt (a) described it: their matter is clearer than the sun. Praise be to Allah alone, alone, alone.
