In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send His prayers upon Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. Do you believe in visions? A vision is unseen, divine, and spiritual evidence and a direct path between the servant and his Lord, Glorious is He; it is among the proofs of the unseen. As for the spiritual evidence that is among the proofs of the world of witnessing, it is the law for recognizing Allah's Proof, which the Truth established in His Book. Its first pillar is the will of the Messenger of Allah (s), which he dictated to Ali (a) on the night of his death and in which he mentioned the name of his successor, Ahmed (a). These two proofs suffice for one seeking the truth to know that the bearer of this call has come from Allah, Glorious is He. On the Supporters' website there is a supplication for a vision for whoever wishes to know the truth through a vision. There is also a matter to which the brother asking the question should attend: the Yamani call relies upon the statements of the purified ones, the family of Muhammad (a), and upon the Quran. These are the only two lawful sources concerning which the Messenger of Allah (s) said: ‘So long as you hold fast to them, you will never go astray after me.’ This call relies only upon the statements of the family of Muhammad (a); it does not rely upon the statements of jurists and scholars so that the matter would be-as you described-sectarian or denominational. Furthermore, by the blessing of the Yamani of the family of Muhammad (a), the Supporters-may Allah grant them success-have established the truth of this call from the books of both parties. In other words, this call is established in the noble narrations transmitted by both parties.
