Question 452

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Kind greetings to my master and guardian Ahmed (a). And thereafter: My master and guardian: 1. I work in the government sector in the army. Do you permit me to continue working, or should I submit my resignation? 2. My guardian, I want to repent, but I do not know why I do not pray or fast. Something makes me not pray, and something makes me not fast. My guardian, I greatly need your supplication, my master and guardian. If there is a supplication I should recite, please give it to me. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Your deficient servant, Abu Husayn. Brothers on the Scientific Committee, please deliver my question to Imam Ahmed Alhasan (a). I ask that the answer be from him (a). Sender: Abu Husayn - Kuwait

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. If your present work does not involve assisting a wrongdoer in his wrongdoing, and you do not assist the American army in your work, you may continue. Perhaps Allah will make for you a way to support the truth. As for prayer and fasting, know-may Allah have mercy upon you-that Satan’s occupation is with you. Other people have spared him the effort through their departure from allegiance. My counsel to you is to perform the night prayer, even if only two units that you perform every night. Among the blessings of the night prayer is that it becomes a fortress for you against Satan and grants you success in performing the obligations. You should also recite some remembrances that you can repeat even while walking or sitting at home, and they are a fortress against Satan. Begin by saying, ‘Glory be to Him; He is Allah, the One, the Subduer,’ and try to repeat it ten thousand times. Success is from Allah. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Late Safar 1431 AH
