Question 471

Peace be upon you, my brothers, O supporters of Allah. I would like to present some questions to the Sayyed, for he is the generous son of the generous. Peace be upon the family of Muhammad. Peace be upon the Yamani. Scientific questions: 1. Is the earth flat or spherical? Are the sun and moon the same size? Is there one sun and one moon, or several of them? How can it be daytime in one place and night in another? What is the explanation of the four seasons and the tides? If the earth is flat, what is the explanation of the horizon, which we see as curved? Does the surface extend without end, or does it have a boundary? What is the explanation of airplane journeys from one side to another around the globe, as they claim-or is this untrue and no one flies there? 2. Does the water we drink today, which contains mineral salts such as potassium, fluoride, sodium, and others, truly have these elements among its constituents, or are they added to it and are satanic poisons deliberately placed in it by devils among humankind and jinn? 3. Are there white and red blood cells, chromosomes, sperm, ova, germs, microbes, bacteria, and viruses, or are all of these lies and there is another mechanism and other realities for these vital functions or forms? 4. Is there blood circulation in the body, or is it not a circulation but something else, such as pumping and sending or a rise in level? 5. Does television work in both directions, meaning that it broadcasts into the home and also films and broadcasts the transmission and image back to the television station? 6. Will something occur in 2012? Is there a planet called Nibiru or Planet X, and when will it appear-not as date-setting, but by mathematical calculation? 7. Is crab lawful or forbidden, and what about ‘mother of shrimp’-a large shrimp with a shell-like covering? 8. Is it possible to travel through time, such as for a person to return and prevent the killing of al-Husayn (a), or is it possible to travel to the future? Can he do something, or only observe and see? 9. It is said that there is an organ in the human being upon which, if fluoride accumulates, it prevents belief in Allah and the unseen. Is this true? Is this the reason fluoride is mixed into water? 10. How can the existence of Allah be proven to an atheist or materialist? 11. Does DNA contain the secrets and reality of the human world? Is it complete or deficient? What caused the defect within it? How can the codes within it be deciphered and learned from? 12. Did your forefathers (a), or the Mahdis, directly undertake creation with their own hands-the creation of heaven, human beings, and other things? Many thanks to you. Sender: A Muslim supporter

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. May Allah grant you success in every good. As for matters concerning the earth’s spherical form and those connected to astronomy, physics, chemistry-such as the composition of certain elements-or biology, most of these are tangible and visible experimental matters. They are not theories about which one asks whether they are real. As for the proportions of minerals in the human body, yes, they greatly affect a person’s behavior and psyche, and they also affect the disclosure of certain unseen matters to the person. As for an event occurring upon the earth and punishment descending upon the people of the earth, this is a matter against which I have warned. Allah does what He wills; the command belongs to Him before and after. Whether the cause of this punishment is a planet approaching, a meteor or asteroid striking the earth, or any other cosmic matter, this is Allah’s command. This is the second flood, which may cause the destruction of most of the earth’s inhabitants. Allah does what He wills. As for the date 2012, I say to you: it may be much sooner than that. The command belongs to Allah before and after. A7: Eating crab is forbidden. Eating shrimp is permissible. A10: If you entered two places containing trees and found that in one, fruit-bearing trees had been planted in organized groups and straight rows, while in the other you found various trees mixed together and planted randomly, you would judge the first to be an orchard organized by a rational power and the other to be a forest where no rational human being organized the planting of the trees or controlled the species planted. Now turn to the earth. You find most fresh water moving. Were it still, epidemics, insects, and putrefaction would fill it, and benefiting from it would be difficult, if not impossible. As for water gathered in great, still bodies upon the earth, such as oceans and seas, you find it salty. Were it fresh, epidemics and diseases would fill it, and it would be a cause of the destruction of the earth’s inhabitants. Look at the composition of the atmosphere and how it has been perfected in a manner that protects the earth’s inhabitants from cosmic radiation. Were it not so, cosmic radiation would destroy the earth’s inhabitants. Look and look: you will find everything organized with precision and measure. Is there a person who respects his own reason who says that this is random, or is there an absolute, wise power that established this precise system? I think this is sufficient for one who respects his reason and does not wish to continue acting arrogantly toward his Creator, Glorious is He. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
