Question 554
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. I live in a state-owned apartment. I purchased it for a sum while paying rent to the state. The apartment belongs to the local administration, and I bought it from a woman who was an employee of the local administration and to whom her department allocated it by an administrative order. Before it was allocated to this female employee, some people had been living in it: they found it empty and moved into it. When it was allocated to this employee, those people were removed against their will. I ask: what action should I take according to the religious law? May Allah make us steadfast, grant us obedience to Him, and enable us to follow His righteous path. Sender: Abu Nur - Iraq
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. The apartment is yours, and you may live in it. Nothing is incumbent upon you-may Allah grant you success. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Mid-Shaban / 1431 AH
