Question 566

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace be upon the one whose banner, as I have seen, is the most rightly guided of banners. Peace be upon the one whose opponents fall and whose followers are saved. I have pledged allegiance to you, and I know that you know what is in my heart, so my inward reality is known before you just as my outward reality is. I am in a foreign country where I find none of my brothers with whom I may find consolation. The vicissitudes of time strike me with the arrows of their afflictions: scarcely do I escape one affliction and praise Allah in every condition before an affliction more severe than it comes upon me. I have no child, a wife who does not give allegiance, and no wealth. I therefore stand at the door of your house, as I did months ago, hoping for your pardon and your supplications that I be granted a righteous wife and a child from my loins who gives allegiance to you and in whom my eye may find delight, for death will inevitably meet me, even if after a while. My hope is for your supplications that I may gain greater understanding of my religion and that, through my tongue, limbs, and deeds, I may call people to you in this land. You are the people of generosity: turning away is not in your nature, nor is rejecting a petitioner among your traits. Were it not for the testimony of faith, your ‘no’ would be ‘yes.’ I await your reply as one waiting upon hotter than embers. Peace from a heart that loves you and supports you, Allah willing. Supplicate for me that my inward reality be like my outward reality and that Allah cast the light of knowledge into my heart, for knowledge is not attained merely by learning. I desire no knowledge from anyone other than you, for seeking knowledge from anyone other than you is equivalent to denying you. Far be it from me to choose darkness and ignorance after Allah has opened my insight through the light of truth. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Sender: Raad - America

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. May Allah grant you success in every good. I ask Allah to bestow upon you what He, Glorious is He, is worthy of bestowing. He is worthy of being feared and worthy of granting forgiveness. He is the Vastly Generous, and He is the Generous One whose abundant giving only increases Him in generosity and munificence. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Rajab al-Asabb / 1431 AH
