Question 605
Prayers and peace be upon you, my guardian, O son of the Messenger of Allah, and upon your forefathers and the Mahdis from your descendants-may Allah’s prayers be upon them all. My master and guardian, O son of the Messenger of Allah, one night I went to sleep filled with sorrow over those who oppose you. I fell asleep, and because of fatigue I had covered half my body with a covering. I awoke startled, hearing a voice in my ear say: ‘O you who are wrapped up, arise during the night except for a little-half of it, or subtract from it a little, or add to it-and recite the Quran in measured recitation.’ I concealed this vision within myself and vowed not to tell anyone about it except you, my master. From you we take, and to you we return. What do you advise me, and how do you direct me? Sender: Yusuf - Hijaz
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. The supporters of Imam al-Mahdi (a) are messengers from the previous prophets, and some of them have the station of prophethood. I clarified this matter in the book The Seal of Prophethood. May Allah grant you success. Your vision is an invitation from Allah for you to worship during part of the night as much as you are able, so that Allah may acquaint you with whatever He wills to acquaint you with in His Kingdom, Glorious is He. May Allah grant you success in every good. If you are able, perform the prayer of the night vigil. You will find it with the supporters-may Allah grant them success-for I wrote it for them years ago, and it is found in Acts of Worship. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
