Question 668 - The Enlightening Answer Across the Ether, Vol 7

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. These are some rational proofs for the existence of the Reality that brought this world into existence: A. Either among existing things there is one that is self-sufficient in itself, or there is not. In the latter case, if they are arranged as causes and effects, as is their condition, then either they return and circle back to the first cause, which becomes an effect of the last one-and this is invalid because it means that a thing is nonexistent and existent at the same time-or they regress infinitely, which is also invalid because the universe is limited and finite. Consequently, the final effect in the chain must have a cause. Nothing remains except that there is One self-sufficient in Himself, and this is what was sought. B. The world is not eternal but originated, because it changes and is composite, and every originated thing is preceded by nonexistence. It must therefore have an Eternal One, not preceded by nonexistence, who brought it into existence. That the corporeal world, or the corporeal universe in which we live, originated has been established even according to modern physical research. Had the corporeal world been eternal, it would have been stable and balanced, unlike its present state of turbulence and continuous change. For more, one may consult modern research in cosmological physics concerning this matter. Atheists are now supposed to accept that the world originated and is not eternal, because, according to their claim, they are empiricists and affirm what material science and its laws affirm. C. The wisdom and order in the world indicate that behind this wisdom and order is a wise organizer. Examples of this order are the existence of the layers of the earth’s atmosphere in this manner, the salinity of seawater, and the flow of river water. As for your other question-why He created human beings, or rather, why He created creation, of which human beings are one existent-this question neither advances nor delays establishing His existence, Glorious is He. If His existence, Glorious and Exalted, becomes established for you by the preceding proofs, I will then move forward one step with you and answer your other questions.
