Question 698
If I discover a spot of nail polish beneath the nail that had been on my nail two weeks ago, must I repeat my prayers and ritual baths? I am fasting today; is my fast valid or invalid? Shaykh Muhammad Atiyyah - Egypt
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. It is not obligatory to repeat the ritual bath or ablution. The prayer and fast are valid. In general, it is not obligatory to make water reach beneath the nail.
