Question 731

What is the ruling concerning a woman who finds the man’s fluid after removing it before the ritual bath, and then, after a period of time, finds that this fluid has emerged from her? Does she repeat the ritual bath, and how does she purify it before the ritual bath? Whenever she urinates, fluid emerges from her and she does not know whether it is the man’s fluid or her own secretions. What is her ruling? Sender: Sayyid Hasan

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

If she knows that the fluid that emerged from her is her husband’s fluid, she must only wash and purify the place; she does not have to repeat the ritual bath or ablution. As for fluid that emerges when she does not know whether it is her secretions or her husband’s fluid, she does not judge it to be her husband’s fluid. She does not have to repeat the ritual bath or ablution; indeed, she does not even have to wash the place so long as she does not know whether it is her husband’s fluid or only her secretions, although washing the place is better and more purifying for her.
