Question 748

What is the meaning of the narration in which the Messenger of Allah (s) said: ‘If a man has two wives and does not deal justly between them in the division of his person and his wealth, he will come on the Day of Resurrection shackled and with one side leaning until he enters the Fire’ ([36])? Can any man who is not protected from error divide his person, wealth, and love justly between them?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

May Allah grant you success. Justice between wives concerns obligatory rights, such as the division of nights, spending the night with the wife, and obligatory support. Ahmed Alhasan
