Question 799

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. May Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family, the Imams and the Mahdis. My master, the successor, Allah’s everlasting peace be upon you. My master, I have my mother and siblings. Only my elder sister among them has believed; my mother and remaining siblings have not believed. I fear that they will enter the Fire-we seek refuge in Allah-and stumble because of you. I ask you to supplicate for them, O guardian of Allah, O my beloved. I long to see you, kiss the ground beneath the dust of your feet, and prostrate as the angels prostrated before Allah’s vicegerent Adam and as Jacob did before Joseph (a). My master, O generous one, son of the generous, my elder brother has developed an illness in his eyes and went to physicians but found no benefit. On the basis of the words of the Messenger Muhammad (s), ‘Seek treatment, for Allah did not create an illness without creating a cure for it,’ surely, by Allah’s permission, the cure is with you, by Allah’s permission, O allies of Allah, the Exalted. This illness consists of a mucous discharge from the eye, and drops and medicine have not helped. I knock at your gate, which is the gate of Allah, the Magnanimous and Vast, and we do not impose conditions upon Him. Perhaps it will be a gate of guidance and mercy for all my family. Your son, my guardian, Abd al-Wahhab Uthman from Lebanon-among the Abdal, Allah willing. My master and Allah’s proof over us, may my father and mother be your ransom, O Prophet’s progeny, O paternal cousins; you are people of connection and kinship. By the right of my grandfather Musa ibn Ja‘far al-Kazim (a), and peace be upon peace. Sender: Abd al-Wahhab Uthman - Sweden

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. May Allah grant you success in every good and direct your steps aright. I ask Allah to make you happy with what you love in the Hereafter and this world. He is my Guardian, and He takes charge of the righteous. I ask Allah for healing and health for the believing men and women. He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy: out of tenderness and mercy, He gives to those who know and ask Him, and gives to those who neither know nor ask Him. For healing, always recite this supplication with an attentive heart: ‘O He whose name is medicine and whose remembrance is healing; O He who places healing in whatever things He wills, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and make the healing of [mention the name if it is someone other than you, or use the first-person possessive and say “my healing”] from this illness be through this name of Yours: O Allah’-ten times-‘O Lord’-ten times-‘O Most Merciful of those who show mercy’-ten times. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
