Question 14

A sister suffers from bad thoughts during prayer and especially while reading the Quran, particularly Surah Ya-Sin. She says she has become afraid to read the Quran because thoughts contrary to the verse may come to her mind. Is there a way to get rid of this?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

She should increase her remembrance of God and fill her free time with remembrance. Even while working, she can keep her tongue occupied with remembering God through seeking forgiveness, praise, gratitude and glorification.
