Question 85

Is madd (lengthening) obligatory in prayer? What is the ruling on the rules of tajwid, such as ghunnah, ikhfa', izhar, and others, and on the articulation points of letters as specified by the scholars of tajwid?

None of this is obligatory. The only obligation is to recite in a way that conveys the correct meaning to the listener.
