Question 44

I had a tattoo placed on my left arm ten years ago, extending from my shoulder down the arm. I am now 31 years old. What is the ruling on praying with this tattoo, given that removing it would require surgery? Is it necessary to remove it, or what should I do?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is not necessary for you to remove it now, and its presence on your arm does not harm the validity of the prayer.
