Question 45
Often we cannot perform the prayer in its complete normal form because we live among family members who are not Muslim. May we pray by way of taqiyya while seated, appearing as though we are meditating and without moving the body, or must we make the prayer up later when we are able to perform it correctly? What if this situation lasts for weeks?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
You may pray while seated, indicating bowing and prostration to whatever extent you are able, even if only with your eyes when you cannot do more than that.
