Question 15
Is it permissible to burn a worn copy of the Holy Quran, or other books containing the names of God, the Prophet, or the noble members of his household, on the grounds that the book has deteriorated and its pages have become old? Or is there another way to honor these sacred names instead of burning them?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Burning them is not permissible. They should be placed in pure water such as rivers or lakes.
