Question 158
Is tiryaq considered among the forbidden and impure intoxicating substances?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Every intoxicant, whether liquid or solid, is forbidden, and it is not permissible to consume it voluntarily for the purpose of intoxication. However, intoxicating substances may be used for a medical or industrial purpose; in that case they are not considered impure, even if liquid, in accordance with the purpose for which they were manufactured.
