Question 76

What is the ruling on buying, making, selling, and keeping dolls or statues in the form of animals?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is permissible to buy, sell, keep, and make dolls and statues in the form of animals, although it is disliked. This is provided that they do not contain something prohibited, such as exposing private parts or arousing desire, or that they are not made for worship and prostration instead of God, or for prostration toward them as a qiblah.
