Question 77

May fish be caught during their breeding season? May they be caught using poison or by an electrical method in which a wire connected to a car battery is placed in the water and kills aquatic animals reached by the current?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

Fish may not be caught during their breeding period because this causes general harm. Fishing methods that cause random death to living creatures, such as electricity, poison and similar methods, may not be used.
