What is the ruling on cultivating, chewing for several hours, and trading in the qat plant found in Yemen and some African countries such as Ethiopia?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Qat is not an intoxicating substance and its use is not forbidden. However, it is better to leave it and consume substances beneficial to health such as coffee and tea.
