Question 67
I read in the Middle East newspaper that a Kuwaiti preacher permitted eating fish raised on European farms using pig waste after that waste had transformed into another substance. What is the ruling on these imported fish that are available in local markets?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
They are lawful and may be eaten if the other conditions for lawfulness are met, such as proper taking of the fish—that is, taking it alive from the water.
