Question 111

Is it permissible, when necessary for a medical examination, to obtain semen by an otherwise impermissible method—masturbation?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

If it has been established that there is no other cause preventing conception, it is permissible to obtain the semen by that otherwise impermissible method for the examination if obtaining it is limited to that method.
