Question 72

Is vaccination permissible? Many types of vaccines contain the toxic substance thimerosal and other harmful substances. What is the ruling for a doctor who administers vaccines to others, particularly children, given that they contain toxic and harmful substances?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is permissible for a doctor to administer vaccines to adults and children so long as the vaccines have been tested, their benefit has been established, and they are suitable for human use.
